More than 6 million subscribers receive a Catholic newspaper every week.  They are evidence that there has never been a stronger sense of spirituality than there is in America today!  Many people in high- powered careers are searching for something more.  The family has once again emerged as the focal point of one’s existence.  Catholicism is a way of life, and    Catholics who are active in their parish and their community are the most desirable consumers.  These are the loyalists, the supporters of their church and community . . . the ardent readers of the Catholic newspapers.  Here’s a recap of the qualities of this estimable audience.

Median Age:  56

Median Household Income:  $47,400

37% of households earn $60,000 plus

86% own single family homes

61% have substantial investment portfolios

69% attended college; 42% graduated

Readers of Catholic newspapers index higher than average in every category of insurance. And when it comes to banking services, readers are likely to own more CDs, more IRAs, more investments, and take advantage of various tax shelters.

Readers of Catholic newspapers have a global vision, and that translates into enormous opportunity for travel agents, resorts, airlines, and travel services of every kind!

It is clear that readers of Catholic newspapers are in the prime of their lives and excellent prospects for a number of products and services.  This high quality audience is loyal to its community, church, and country . . . and to the advertisers who support its publications.  You’d be hard pressed to find a market with such potential.  Catholic consumers do,  indeed, make business better!

All in all, Catholic consumers provide great opportunities for advertisers seeking to reach and influence an extremely high-quality audience that is well-off, well-traveled and well-protected, and that cares about society, church and family. An advertisement in a Catholic newspaper does more than attract attention, it prompts action! Because of the readership and loyal attitudes towards companies supporting “their newspaper,” America’s Catholics are likely to show their enthusiastic support to advertisers.
