KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Faith doesn’t have to go on vacation in the summertime.

Three KCK parishes, in fact — Blessed Sacrament, Christ t he
King, and Our Lady and St. Rose — made sure it didn’t, by hosting two events for kids ages 4 to 18.

The younger kids, ages 4 to 13, participated in “Together in Harmony,” held July 30 to Aug. 3. This unique vacation Bible school featured daily Mass, fun activities, crafts, and lunch — all within the context of celebrating diversity.

The older youths , ages 14 to 18, took part i n “ Be Bright in Your Living,” a youth revival held July 29 to 31 and led by Father Chester Smith, SVD, from St. Rita Parish in Indianapolis. Father Chester ’s presentation was followed by group discussions, an opportunity to receive the sacrament of reconciliation, and an
anointing service.
